Roll Off (Unrolling) Creels

Some products cannot be taken off over the end and must be unrolled so that no twist is introduced. McCoy-Ellison, Inc. has this type of creel for several different applications.

The Model 22W Creel (seen on the left) is specifically designed to process steel wire. The high required tension with minimal end to end variation is provided utilizing a pneumatically loaded friction system with a compensating dancer arm. The robust design can withstand the tremendous loads generated in processing wire. A new magnetic chuck allows faster loading without sacrificing performance.

The Model 22T (seen on the right) is a version of the Model 22W, with design parameters of lower tension and affordable cost. This creel is best suited for tape yarns and monofilament. The Model 22T Creel utilizes a friction brake coupled to a pneumatically controlled tension compensating dancer arm to provide consistent tension in a robust framework.
